# Coarse woody debris density and nutrient data across western USA, including HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, North Carolina, USA, Mexico and Russia 1982-2001

## Dataset

- **Database Code:** TD022

- **Title:** Coarse woody debris density and nutrient data across western USA, including HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, North Carolina, USA, Mexico and Russia 1982-2001

- **Abstract:**

This data set is used to document the changes in external characteristics, density, nutrient content, and form of carbon associated with various decay classes and ages of logs and snags. The pieces that have been dated form the basis for a chronosequence. All the pieces sampled are used to define the characteristics of decay classes. These classes are used in turn to convert the external dimension data in TD012 to estimates of mass and nutrient stores.

- **Temporal coverage:** 1982-09-01 to 2001-06-11
