Canopy Connections offers a unique field trip experience that gives middle-school students an opportunity to climb into the canopy of an old-growth forest. The mission is to inspire a sense of wonder and respect for our natural world through a curriculum that integrates science, art, creative writing. Canopy Connections is supported by three partner institutions: University of Oregon Environmental Leadership Program, The Pacific Tree Climbing Institute, and the US Forest Service PNW Station. The program enriches the curriculum for regional K-12 students, and it provides training in ecology and science education for undergraduate and graduate students in the University of Oregon Environmental Science program.
